today i will give tutorial upgrade samsung galaxy ace to Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS). We know that Samsung have been announced that there are no official update to android 4.0 for this device. But don't worry many developers from xda forum have found some ics rom for the device. And Today i will present on this article the most stable rom
the things that you must be concerned is :
- First, enable USB Debugging Mode in your mobile phone by go to Settings>Applications >Development > USB Debugging. then ticked that option
- Samsung Device Drivers installed on your computer.
- You must Have root acces to your device. see how to root galaxy ace
- Create a Nandroid Back before you flash your galaxy ace
- If you want to flash official firmware read flash official firmware on galaxy ace s5830 via odin
Please note it is important to you to follow the following step, so you can do the process without any problem. For user experience you can read on comment area
Download android 4.0.3 ROM here
Install clockworkmod recovery on galaxy ace
- download CWM V 5 for your phone
- rename your dowloaded file(CWM) to "update.zip"
- place your update.zip file to your sd card, but place on outside folder
- restart/reboot on recovery mode( press and hold home and power button)
- Select "install update" in this recovery menu wait until the process is complete.
- After finish > Reboot > Turn off the device's again, go back to the Recovery menu then Clockworkmod recovery has successfully installed
Install Android Ice Cream Sandwich on Galaxy Ace
- download the android 4.0.3 file needed above
- place your downloaded file to your SDcard(place on outside folder)
- Then Reboot into recovery mode(Press and hold Home+power until galaxy ace logo appear on screen(you will boot into CWM), use volume key to scroll up and down, power key to select an option
- Then Select Wipe data/factory reset
- Then Select Cache partition, select Yes - Wipe Cache. Wait until wipe process complete
- Now scroll down to advanced and select use you power button.
- On next screen, select Wipe Dalvik Cache, then Yes - Wipe Dalvik. wait until wipe process complete
- Now go back to the main menu, then select "Install Zip from SD card".
- then select choose zip from SD card, and choose to the ROM that you have insert in the step 2
- Then Confirm Installation.
- After installation finished, select Reboot system.
- Finish
- now your galaxy axe have updated to ICS

Anyone else doing this tutorial dont turn off (except after Rooting CWM5)just take out the sd card and put files on it and reinsert thats what i did.

hmm i think if your galaxy ace become slow because your rom is damaged. so you must flash new firmware and fix the lag first. so when you install the custom rom above everything will run smoothly.
