How To Upgrade Samsung Galaxy S2 to 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich UCLE5

here i want to share step by step instruction to install the latest official Android 4.0.3 ice Cream Sandwich to your AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-I777 with build number I777UCLE5. please read the instruction carefully


There is Two Step

Update Via KIES
  1. Usually update from KIES is released slowly, but i found a way to forcibly do it in kies. To do this It is simple, just Don't plug in your phone while you are doing the update.
  2. First make sure if you have updated your KIES with the latest version. Then go to the menu bar> choose tools, then choose firmware upgrade and initialization.
  3. Click until appaer a screen that asks you to input your S/N and Model name of your phone. Enter the details that is asked. you can fing in your phone(behind the battery).
  4. after do this, a screen will pop up and asking if you are sure or not, to upgrade your galaxy S2 to CSC:LE5. AKA ice cream sandwich.
  5. At this point, plug in your phone and it'll go through.


Update Manually Using ODIN
First you need to download the needed file below :

  1. Extract the zip file that you have to a directory on your computer. This Odin3 One-click downloader contains firmware from the stock binary download available from samfirmware on sammobile.com.
  2. Then Run Odin
  3. Now Enter your galaxy s2 to Download Mode:
    First power off your phone, then plug in the usb cable while holding the vol up + vol down buttons (but not the power button).
    When the warning screen appears, press Volume up to continue into download mode.
  4. In Odin, the small edit box in the upper left corner will turn yellow, and say something like [0:COM8]. The number that appear could be different.
  5. Click Start. Then you can see that the progress bar advance in green while the message box in the lower area describes the steps. When the process is finished, the top left larger edit box will turn to green and say PASS! then your galaxy s2 will automatically reboot.
  6. Then Unplug the usb cable from you phone after it boot up.
  7. If your phone enters a bootloop, enter to recovery mode and perform a wipe data/factory reset.



NOTE: Odin3 will recognize both tar and tar.md5 files. When using the tar.md5, Odin will verify the md5 sum first before flashing.
